Role of Biomedical Engineering in Prevention of Typhoid Fever

Abstract


Typhoid fever is one of the most common infectious diseases caused by Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi. It is also known as enteric fever. It can affect any age group. Infected person suffers from continuous fever along with malaise, abdominal pain, headache. Diagnose is done with the help of Widal test. Preventive measures like personal hygiene, food hygiene, promotion of safe drinking water and sanitation, Typhoid vaccine in killed form and live attenuated form is given to individuals.
