APPLICATION OF NANOTECHNOLOGY IN RENEWABLE ENERGY
Abstract
Nanotechnology is the ability to observe and control individual atoms and molecules. This technology is one of the most powerful engines of innovation – every day this technology is been incorporated into various fields of science where it increases the efficiency and durability of the products. With the use of Nanotechnology, breakthrough solutions to the real world problems have been found. Nanotechnology has a huge potential in enhancing the efficiency and energy production of the Renewable Energy Generation Technologies also. It is well noted that the integration of Nano materials can improve the performance of the devices. These include - increased harvesting and conversion efficiencies, simplified and cheaper manufacturing processes, increased structural strength, increase in the energy outputs and improved energy storage properties. This review is based on the applications of Nanotechnology in various Renewable Energy Technologies. The main aim of this review paper is to discuss about the incorporation of Nanotechnology in Photovoltaic cells, Wind Power Generators, Geothermal Energy Generation and Bio Gas Generation.
