Effect of Sulphamic acid on the growth of Glycine single crystals

R. Manimekalai, Fredselin R.S vithel

Abstract

Sulphamic acid added glycine single crystals were grown successfully by slow-evaporation technique.A single crystal with well defined crystal was obtained. The lattice parameters and crystal system of the grown crystals were confirmed by single crystal and powder x-ray diffraction analysis. The functional groups present in the sample were identified by FTIR spectral analysis. The lower cut off wavelength and bandgap energy of the grown crystal was analysed from uv-vis spectral analysis. Keywords: Crystal growth, slow evaporation, single crystal, Single XRD, FTIR,UV – Vis studies
