EXPERIMENTATION OF A HIGH STEP-UP DC-DC CONVERTER FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY

Joseph Ayodele Owolabi

Abstract

In this article, the experimentation of a high step- up dc-dc converter are discussed and put forward power management of different types of renewable energy sources whose voltages and currents are connected by the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller. The inductor motor was interfaced at the load whose speed was measured and shown in the form of waveforms. This high step-up dc-dc converter has reliability operate instantaneous power generation from different renewable energy sources. The output of the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller is the duty cycle which is regularly updated to track the maximum power from the energy sources. The output response characteristics obtained by this method is very much improved and show a high degree of effectiveness compared to the conventional pulse width modulation (PWM) method of control.

Key words: Experimentation, dc-dc converter, Renewable energy, MPPT Controller, Pulse Width Modulation.
