Effect of impurity metal (Fe, Co, Ni) on WSex as good hydrogen evolution catalyst

Abstract


Transition metal chalcogenides are recognized as a category of very promising non-expensive and earth-abundant catalysts for Hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts. Many literature reports appeared recently on metal selenides due to excellent phyco-chemical properties and for HER, this mini review attempt to give some insight on effect of Fe, Co, Ni to WSex toward efficiency of HER. From the literature report showed that presence of impurities activity with WSex following within the order of Fe < Co < Ni. Ni and Co addition into the WSex have enhanced the electro catalytic HER activity in comparison with the only WSex.
