Consumers Behavior Towards Organic Food Products (Fruits and Vegetables) in Panchkula City

Abstract


Organic is a production system that sustains the health of soils, ecosystem and people. It relies on ecological processes rather than use of inputs with adverse effects. Organic agriculture is a blend of tradition, science, and innovation. Organic farming brings agriculture processes and nature together. There is a great need to develop Organic production in India and this can be possible with an efficient marketing system. This paper is designed to make the proper understanding of opinion of consumer towards organic food particularly fruits and vegetables in the Panchkula city. The outcome wraps up with the response that most people in urban areas have a preference for an organic food product. Nowadays, people are very conscious about health. Marketing system should be efficient so as to increase the demand for organic food but side by side supply system should also be proper and for that, there should be more organic produce, more organic stores should be opened and so on. We can also use Nanotechnology the newly emerging technology which can ensure food safety by providing safe packaging while maintaining the nutrients of the food product. Hence if the farmer, as well as the administration of that area, work together to develop the interest for organic farming then it will automatically boost the efficient marketing system of organic food products in Panchkula city.
