Synthesis and Characterization of Cesium Intercalated Graphene Thin Film

Abhinav Gondhi

Abstract

Graphene Oxide (GO) becomes promising two-Dimensional (2D) material in optoelectronics due to its sparkling properties. In preparation step we used Carboxylation of graphene and vacuum filtration to create the free standing thin film of cesium (Cs) intercalated GO. In this work we have synthesized cesium (Cs) intercalated GO thin films at different concentration (0.03, 0.05, 0.1 mol %) by using vacuum filtration method. The functional group present in synthesized thin film confirm by using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Raman spectroscopy was used to determine the vibration effect. The effect on Electrical conductivity after intercalated Cs in the graphene layers measure by using I-V Characterization. The optical band gap and absorbance of all samples measured done through UV-Vis Spectroscopy. Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM) was used to identify the morphology of the prepared samples. After the intercalation of Cs, the resistance was decreases from 15.00 ×106 Ω to 525× 103 Ω. The optical band gap was decreases from 3.54 eV to 3.38 eV and the absorbance was increases in the UV range by increasing the concentration of Cs
