Design of Electrical Knee Stimulator for Osteoarthritis (OA) patients
Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis. While it can occur even in young people, the chance of developing osteoarthritis increases after the age of 45. In this experiment, we have simulated a circuit that makes use of 555 timers to generate electrical pulses using NI Multisim. On the basis of simulation results, this circuit can be designed into a device that can be used to provide pulsed electrical stimulation to the knee osteoarthritis patients to relieve the symptoms of the disease.
