Experimental Study on Effect of Momentum Transfer Hydrocarbon Degradation in Stream System

C. P Ukpaka

Abstract

This research work demonstrates the significance of individual hydrocarbon degradation in a flowing stream system and the effect of the momentum transfer on the concentration of the individual hydrocarbon was examined on the influence of period of exposure (time) on the environment as well as the distance of dispersion. The substrate concentration variation was monitored with respect to time and distance as well as reciprocal of the substrate established by evaluating each of the individual hydrocarbon degradation property in the flowing stream on the influence of momentum transfer was also determined. The established values were further simplified to obtain the specific rate of the reaction (velocity) and the reciprocal of the specific rate of the reaction (velocity). The obtained data of the reciprocal of the individual substrate and individual specific rate of the reaction (velocity) can be found useful in the determination of the maximum specific rate of individual hydrocarbon degradation and the dissociation constant of each individual hydrocarbon degradation in the flowing stream on the influence of momentum transfer.
