Abstract

Abstract :
The Schiff base ligand was prepared by sulfapyridine with salicylaldehyde Zr(II), Ba(II), Co(II), Sr(II) and Th (II) complexes of above ligand was synthesized as well. The synthesized complexes have been characterized by powder XRD and SEM. The anti microbial activity of synthesized ligand ant its complexes have been tested for their antibacterial activity against bacterial species, such as Bacillus subtilis, staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas, aeruginosa, Enterobacter aerogenes, E-coli and fungal species such as pencilium notatum and Aspergillus niger. The result found that the metal complexes were more active than the ligand.
