n this work, Synthesis and characterization of magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles by the co-precipitation method has been done. These nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), UV-Visible spectroscopy (UV) and Thermogravimetry analysis (TGA/DSC). SEM image show morphology and porosity of material. The nanoparticles show quasi-spherical morphology with mean size around 37 nm. The XRD and FTIR confirmed the functionalization of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles. From XRD all peaks are well identified and crystallite size for different peak has also been calculated. Duracell black powder and lanthanum oxide added with Fe3O4 and using of polyvinyl alcohol make a sensing pellet with pelletizer. The pellets of sensing material were subjected to annealing at temperature 200, 400, 600, 8000C respectively and were exposed to humidity and temperature variation. Electrical resistance of pellets was found to vary with temperature and recorded. The sensitivity of sensor at various temperature and resistance was calculated.References
