Evaluation of Adsorption Isotherm Parameters on Corrosion Rate of Metal using Water-Based Extracts as an Inhibitor in Acidic Medium
Abstract
The research showcases the evaluation of MCS metal corrosion rate in terms of the effect of temperature and adsorption isotherm parameters monitored using water-based extracts with the aim to predict the Gibb’s free energy characteristics on inhibition integrity of the metal sample in acidic medium of 1.0M of HCl The water-based extract used are Selaginella myosurus, SM and Pneumatopter is pennigera, GF and the inhibition performance with respect to temperature profile reveals that the process was affected by the immersion time. The research further reveals that the thermodynamic and adsorption parameters demonstrate components and organic functional group capable of inhibiting corrosion was identified in both water-based plant extracts used for this investigation. The adsorption rate constant of the various samples species demonstrates increase and decrease as the temperature increases as this characteristic can be integrated to weight loss, corrosion rate, corrosion activation energy enthalpy, and entropy, which finally indeed, the Gibb’s free energy.References
