Synthesis and Characterization of Fluorescent Core-Shell Ag@SiO2 and Ag@MoS2 Nanoparticle

Amit Kumar Vats, Mintu Kumar

Abstract

Among metals, silver (Ag) and gold (Au) NPs have attracted significant interest owing to their extraordinary optical properties related with the localized surface Plasmon resonance. However, the main drawbacks of colloidal nanoparticles, making them barely useable in the photovoltaic field, are their low colloidal stability. To overcome this problem we have developed a new class of fluorescent core-shell Ag@SiO2 nanoparticles, or simply called (MEF) nanoparticles. Different characterization techniques UV-Vis, PL and FTIR are performed to confirm the formation of the nanoparticle.
