A Brief Review of Simonkolleite Nanoparticles: Synthesis, Characterizations, and Their Transformative Impact Across Industries

Abstract


The rapid progress in nanotechnology has ignited a quest for innovative materials tailored to specific application needs or designed to enhance particular characteristics. Among these, simonkolleite, a zinc-based material, has emerged prominently in scientific discussions due to its promising properties with diverse medical, health, and environmental applications. This systematic review delves into the extensive literature on simonkolleite, unraveling its myriad applications across various fields. Often associated with ZnO-related research, Simonkolleite is characterized by structural attributes that have garnered attention for their potential contributions. This review comprehensively explores its applications, including its cytotoxicity against cancer cells, acceleration of rat skin healing, use in encapsulation technology for bone regeneration and post-operative orthopedic surgery, promotion of biogas production, bacteriological control in crop cultures, and efficacy in adsorption and degradation of chemical agents in aqueous solutions. Beyond these applications, simonkolleite exhibits promise in thermal decomposition, photovoltaic cells, gas detection, and superconductor production. Numerous studies underscore its potential, emphasizing the need for additional research to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of action and behavior. This systematic review sheds light on the current state of knowledge and catalyzes future advancements in this burgeoning field. In conclusion, simonkolleite is a versatile and promising material with applications ranging from medical treatments to environmental solutions. The exploration of its multifaceted uses in this systematic review highlights its current applications and lays the groundwork for further research and development in the evolving landscape of nanotechnology
