The Effect of Carbon Percentage on Structural Steel’s Compressive and Tensile Strength: A Literature Survey

Prateek Saxena, Vishal Rathore

Abstract

The fundamental necessity of this survey is to check the enhancement of the strength, hardness, dimensional stability and wear resistance by passing them through the cold temperature that enhance the hardness of the substance as a result of the increment in which it took place within the proportion of primary solid solution within the structure. If the type of methods mentioned in the article are employed in manufacturing and production of steel of various classes which boosts the properties of fabric at the stage of cooling in negative temperature with the utilization of cryogen or different cooling media and of these merchandise are employed in totally different area unites with bigger performance. Result shows that the strength of fabric is accumulated as we have a tendency to cool the stuff in negative temperature inside a similar elongation when it is manufactured i.e. 741.27 to most of 793 N/mm² at –15°C and 802 N/mm² at –30°C and 168.25 to a most of 199 BHN at –15°C and 260 BHN at –30°C cold treatment. Keywords: Strength, hardness, wear resistance, dimensional stability
