Abstract

Service temperatures in engineering materials have been one of important factors. It alone has not been only controlling variable for creep properties. Useful services from useful materials therefore have been more important within temperature ranges stipulated for certain services. Temperature ranges of interest to materials engineer have been ranged from cryogenic regions (- 200oC) to temperature of a tungsten-filament lamp (2000oC). This article has been description of materials from room temperature to negligently higher.

Key words: Austenitic steels, Nickel base materials, Nickel – iron base alloys, Cobalt base alloys, Coatings, Refractory metals.
