Role of Nanotechnology in Homoeopathy

Upasana Bhola

Abstract

The word Homoeopathy is derived from the Greek words ‘hómoios’ meaning similar and ‘páthos’ means suffering. Recently the development been done by several researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Bombay, and have discovered that nanotechnology is the very basis of homoeopathic treatments. There were several study been done in order to find a relation between Homoeopathy and Nanotechnology and according to IIT scientists the homeopathic medicines work on the principle of nanotechnology. They have established the origin of homoeopathic medicine by carrying out experiments with homoeopathic pills that is made of naturally occurring metals such as gold, silver, copper, platinum, tin, zinc and iron. Highly diluted solutions were prepared and were examined under a powerful electron microscope to find out the nanoparticles of the original metal. Homoeopathic remedies are proposed as source nanoparticles that mobilize hormesis are tiny doses of toxins which acts in completely different manner in our body, than the large doses and are even beneficial for the body and time-dependent sensitization via non-pharmacological effects on specific biological adaptive and amplification mechanisms.
