Effect of Diamond Like Carbon Coating on the Surface-Driven Capillary Flow of Dyed Water in PMMA Microchannel Bends
Abstract
In this study, author has fabricated total 6 individual polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microchannel bends as microfluidic devices. The used microfabrication techniques in this work are maskless lithography, hot embossing lithography, undoped diamond like carbon (DLC) coating, and direct bonding technique. The effects of surface wettability, channel width and centrifugal force on the surface-driven capillary flow of dyed water are studied in the fabricated PMMA microchannel bends. This work will be useful in bioengineering applications.
